KTA 3 Traditional and virtual marketing

 John Wick Task 1.

Keanu Reeves social media

He promoted the film on his own Social media accounts by posting videos of behind the scenes as well as the official film posters

Billboard - this is a billboard advertising John Wick In Times Square New York. The Billboard is right in the tourist centre of the city meaning that a lot of more people will see the advert.

Social media advert - this advert was on Instagram.

Magazine Advert for the film - the Empire magazine is based at a younger audience.

Film Trailer, the film trailer was shown worldwide in cinemas and on TV and social media streaming platforms e.g. Instagram and YouTube.

Task 1. The billboard and the magazine are both traditional methods of advertising (older people). These are well used methods of advertising that are guaranteed to work successfully. They are the foundation of most main advertising campaigns and they appeal to almost every age group. The viral marketing (younger people) methods uses social media and film trailers. These are less reliable but they are cheaper methods meaning that more companies can get their products out there for their target audience to see. Together they appeal to every audience.

Task 2.

Task 3.

Below-the-line advertising is an advertising strategy where products are promoted in media other than mainstream methods of advertising.

A Costco 4 for 2 deal (advertised on email) was effective. The target audience e.g. my dad looked at the deal but did not buy the product. The advertising was successful because he looked at the product and it stayed in his mind. The idea of the advert was not necessarily to get him to buy the product but to remember that costco does good deals.
