Setting up the enigma the problem

TASK 2:

Example Free Guy:

Costumes in the film are fairly basic for the main character. For the other characters they have different and varied styles of costumes depending on the setting of the shot. This is a good guy so his costume is not dark or moody but instead lighthearted and happy.

The costumes change throughout the 2 main settings of the film which are the game itself and then the real world that is outside of the game. For example in costumes inside the game are over expressive and are not what the characters would wear in the real world.

The props in this movie are mostly weapons and guns. At the start of the movie the only prop is a cup of coffee that the character buys. This connotes that he is peaceful although throughout the movie the props become more aggressive turning into weapons. This connotes that the character has become more aggressive and heroic towards the end of the movie.

The gestures in the movie connote that the movie is a an action movie and there is a lot of fast paced action and shots. To create a sense of excitement for the audience this connotes a sense of danger and thrill for the audience.

Lighting: the lighting in this movie changes from dark to light depending on the circumstances of the main character such as the dark moody lighting in the run up to a fight scene, and using bright vibrant lighting for the scenes where the main character is happy or is successful in their fight or other objective.

The colours in the film represent the theme of the the particular scenes for example the lighter colours such as blue and green feature heavily throughout the scenes where the main character is happy or has completed what they needed to do so for this film it is when they discover a secret level, when they discovered this secret level it was displayed as a paradise for the main character and the colors represent the happiness of the main character.

The location of the film changes due to the kind of film that this is. The film is an action film meaning that it has a lot of fast paced action scenes. the locations are either large open areas or small enclosed area where fighting taking place.
